This Privacy Policy explains how Daring Spirit Oy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use DearHiringManager.io ("DearHiringManager", the "Platform", or the "Service"). Daring Spirit Oy is the data controller for personal data processed through the Platform. Our registered address is Hiihtomäentie 14, 00810 Helsinki, Finland (Business ID 3461256-6).
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to visitors, registered users, paying customers, and anyone who submits an email address, job posting URL, payment information, or other data through the Platform. It does not cover third-party websites, job boards, LinkedIn, payment processors, or enrichment providers that we link to or integrate with — those services have their own privacy policies.
2. Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Contact information: email address, name (if provided), and any information you include when contacting us.
- Account and authentication data: login credentials, session tokens, and verification codes if you create an account or sign in.
- Usage data: job posting URLs you submit, lookup history, saved results, credit balances, subscription status, and detailed first-party product events such as visits, input attempts, lookup starts, validation errors, cache hits, processing outcomes, previews, reveals, email delivery, upgrade prompts, checkout starts, and other feature interactions.
- Payment data: billing status, transaction identifiers, and plan details. Full card numbers are processed by our payment provider (Stripe) and are not stored on our servers.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, referring hosts, timestamps, and cookies or similar identifiers used for essential product telemetry, security, and fraud prevention.
- Communications: emails we send you (lookup results, receipts, support replies) and optional marketing messages if you opt in.
The Platform also returns publicly available business contact information about third parties (such as hiring managers). That data comes from public sources and enrichment providers; we do not control what those third parties publish.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
- deliver hiring manager lookup results and related product features;
- manage accounts, credits, subscriptions, and billing;
- send transactional emails (results, receipts, security alerts);
- send optional weekly job-hunting tips if you subscribe;
- prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, and detect fraud;
- improve the product, fix bugs, and analyze aggregate usage patterns;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your email with recruiters, employers, or data brokers.
We use first-party product telemetry to understand the lookup funnel end to end: which pages are visited, where users start or abandon searches, which inputs fail validation, whether a lookup is cached or newly processed, whether results become available, and whether users reveal contacts, request emails, or start checkout. This telemetry is processed by us for service operation, security, diagnostics, usage limits, and aggregate product statistics. It stays with us: we do not use it for third-party ad profiling and we do not send it to any analytics provider.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you request, including delivering lookup results and managing your account or subscription.
- Legitimate interests: to improve the Platform, prevent abuse, maintain security, operate usage limits, diagnose failures, and analyze aggregated first-party product usage — balanced against your rights.
- Consent: for optional marketing emails and non-essential cookies where required by law. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose data to comply with applicable law.
5. Third-Party Processors
We use trusted third-party services to operate the Platform. These may include hosting providers, database services (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), authentication, contact enrichment APIs, and AI model providers. Each processor receives only the data necessary to perform its function and is bound by contractual data protection obligations where applicable.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Lookup history and account data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see Section 10).
First-party product telemetry and lookup records are kept for product analytics, reliability, billing support, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and enforcing usage limits. Some high-risk fields may be shortened on a separate schedule: IP addresses on visit, invalid-input, and search-throttle records are normally removed after 30 days; raw invalid job URL inputs are normally redacted after 30 days; and visit and invalid-input telemetry events are normally deleted after 180 days. We may keep limited records longer where needed for security investigations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, payment disputes, or enforcing free-lookup limits.
7. Cookies
We do not use third-party analytics. Google Analytics was removed in September 2026, and with it the cookie notice: every cookie we set now is strictly necessary to run the Service, so there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
The cookies that remain are a first-party visitor identifier (used to recognize return visits, connect them to an email you provide when revealing contacts, and prevent free-lookup abuse such as rotating addresses), your session, and your paid access. All of them are first-party and none are shared with advertisers or used to build a profile of you across other websites.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may limit remembered preferences and parts of the Service. See also our Usage Limits page.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in Finland, the European Union, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. When we transfer data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms as required by applicable law.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent for marketing at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any marketing email or contacting us. If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
