The product helps job seekers find the real person behind a job opening. A user pastes a job post URL, and the system identifies the likely hiring manager, their work email, and LinkedIn profile.
We are looking for a data science engineer to improve how we parse job posts, rank likely hiring managers, and measure quality.
What you will work on
- Improve models and heuristics for identifying likely hiring managers from job posts
- Work on job post parsing, company matching, and structured extraction pipelines
- Build evaluation datasets and quality metrics for contact accuracy and recall
- Design experiments for LLM prompts, structured outputs, and fallback logic
- Analyze production data to find failure modes and prioritize fixes
- Collaborate with engineering on scoring, enrichment, and API integrations
- Improve data pipelines for contacts, verification signals, and user search history
- Document model behavior and help the team reason about edge cases
What we are looking for
- 3+ years in data science, ML engineering, or applied research on production systems
- Strong Python and SQL for analysis, pipelines, and experimentation
- Experience with NLP, information extraction, or ranking problems
- Comfort working with LLM APIs and structured JSON outputs in real products
- Ability to define metrics, run offline evals, and validate changes in production
- Experience collaborating with software engineers on integrated ML features
- Ability to work independently and ship improvements iteratively
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Experience with OpenAI or other LLM providers in production
- Background in recruiting, job boards, enrichment, or people-search products
- Experience with Supabase, Postgres, or event/analytics data
- Knowledge of contact verification, email deliverability, or entity resolution
- Early-stage SaaS experience where you owned models end to end
Why join
- You will work on a live product where model quality directly affects user outcomes.
- This is a hands-on role with real data, real users, and room to improve core algorithms quickly.
How to apply
Send a short note about yourself and links to ML, data, or evaluation work you have done.
About DearHiringManager.io
DearHiringManager.io is an early-stage SaaS product focused on one workflow: helping job seekers reach the person who can actually hire them. Unlike bulk email-finder tools built for sales teams, we identify the likely hiring manager attached to a specific job opening.
The product combines job-post parsing, company research, contact enrichment, and AI-assisted matching. We serve individual job seekers — not recruiters buying lead lists. The team is remote, lean, and product-obsessed.
Working here means building features that ship to production quickly, talking to users, and improving a tool that people rely on during one of the most stressful periods of their careers.
Looking for a job somewhere else?
If this role is not the one, the tool we build is for you anyway. Paste the URL of any job posting into DearHiringManager.io and get the hiring manager's name, verified email and LinkedIn in about a minute — so your application reaches a person instead of a queue. Applications per hire have tripled since 2021, which is exactly why the portal alone stopped working.
